How do you feel student learning was impacted for those who participated in this program?
Our students at Hodges Bend Middle School were greatly impacted the only wish we had was that more students could have participated frm other classes. The students are making connections to real life and are still talking about how unexpectedly cool and engaging the videoconference was with Mr. Brad Tassell. Additionally, during their leisure time I hear students who participated in this videoconference telling other students their suggestions fir how to handle bullies. Ellisha Newton -Note: Something happened as I was filling out the evaluation, I was about to fill in my information and the information about the school and then all of a sudden I saw this portion of the evaluation. I will be elated to fill in this information in the future as well.

Comments:
Reading the novel and participating in the videoconference with Mr. Brad Tassell assisted us in learning and teaching the standards outlined by our Federal, State, abd District departments because we analyzed it in more depth than we would have of would have simply read it and discussed it in the classroom setting only. Conferencing with Mr. Brad Tassell allowed us to discover the different layers of meaning that are with in the novel so that we could make connections to our real lives.

How do you feel student learning will be impacted as a result of your participation in this program?
Good refresher and probably some new insight for staff. My hope is that staff will think from all perspectives, particularly those of the child who stands out/victim next time they encounter bullying. My other hope is that on those few occasions when teacher's do not intervene in bullying - they will.

Did you as an educator, gain new knowledge or skills from participating in this program?
Yes

Would you recommend this program to others?
Yes
Why or why not?
Definitely yes! I have participated in numerous bullying prevention workshops over the several years, and this one was more engaging, less "fluffy", and took on a new and refreshing perspective. I have found other programs focus on the problem either being the bullies, the victim, OR the staff. I like that this program talks about how everyone involved is part of the problem and can be part of the solution.

How do you feel student learning was impacted for those who participated in this program?
Students were provided with ways in which to understand bullying and how to best deal with bullies. They also learned the difference between tattling and reporting. Relevant examples were given to them; examples they were able to relate to. The topics discussed were very relevant to the students' ages. I think the students should be able to solve problems in both areas, should they develop.

Did you as an educator, gain new knowledge or skills from participating in this program?
Yes
He refreshed my memory of these topics.

Would you recommend this program to others?
Yes
Why or why not?
These topics are important to the students because unfortunately they encounter them in everyday life. The presenter was entertaining not preaching to the students. The presenter was quite animated , which kept students attentive.

How do you feel student learning was impacted for those who participated in this program?
Students got to experience how bullying is not a act to be taking lightly. That they should not bully others or allow others to be bullied. They should report situations where bullying takes place and feel good about helping to stop bullying in their school.

Did you as an educator, gain new knowledge or skills from participating in this program?
